WOW! God does amazing things when we listen to Him and simply "be still" for a weekend and let Him reveal to us "I am God" (PS 46:10). In the quiet remoteness of Messiah's ranch God spoke! It never ceases to amaze me how much I miss those times when we turn the stress of everyday life off and just listen for Him. It is so difficult for most of us to take time to "be still" we are running from one activity or responsibility to next without giving a thought to the God who loves us so desperately. Life is busy, schedules are packed and families and friends require our constant attention but what would it do for our day to just STOP! LOOK! and LISTEN, not to the latest music video, youtube video or latest gossip but to what our Father has to say. God is screaming out to each of us how much He loves us and just wants to spend time with His kids. Don't wait for the next camp or retreat don't even wait for tomorrow, take the time right now to just sit, talk and listen to the only one that loves you enough to pay the price you cannot pay, the one who understand the intimate details that no one else even knows, cares in those time when we think no one even knows we exist and is willing to give more than we can possibly imagine. "Be still and know I am God" so simple and so neglected. Take some time to visit with your heavenly Father, He is waiting on you.

Back to Busy-ness

Well, it's that time of year again! Back to school which means back to business, or should I say busy-ness. We all have those dreaded schedules. In fact, some of you get up before the sun, check your phone, work out or go to a practice, check your facebook, stuff a breakfast bar in your mouth, check your facebook hit morning classes, check your text messages, scarf a corn dog for lunch, check your facebook, finish afternoon classes, check your text messages, stay after for study group and more practices, check your facebook, drag yourself home, check your phone, choke down a frozen pizza, check your facebook, watch some tv, work on homework till midnight, check your facebook, then start again the next day.

Wow... so little time in a day! I mean, couldn't God just give us 28 hours in a day instead of only 24????
The sad truth is that if we did have 28 hour days, we would be screaming for more! Everyday, we are given a fresh set of 24.... never been used and once they are gone, they will never return. Have you ever stopped to wonder where the God of the universe actually fits into your 24 hours? Is He that invisible presence that you only remember to include when your failing a test or facing tragedy? Is He only included in your vocabulary when you text OMG?

I challenge you to take a short breather today. Ask Christ to burden your heart for special time slots where He can fit into your next 24. Ask Him to show you ways of including Him in your busy schedule. Maybe it is a two minute prayer before your feet hit the floor, a five minute bible reading while you ride to school, then looking at that daily memory verse in your text messages before class, making time at lunch to simply be thankful that He is Lord of your day and working hard not to short-change Him on times to meet and worship with other believers. like at Sunday School or Wednesday OneWay. I think you will find that once you begin to carve out time to include Jesus in your day, He will speak to you, bless you, and use you beyond anything you can imagine!

What can I give back to God for the blessings he's poured out on me? I'll lift high the cup of salvation—a toast to God! I'll pray in the name of God; I'll complete what I promised God I'd do, and I'll do it together with his people. Psalm 116:12

Mission to MS

I am so excited about this High School mission trip. After our trip to MO following the tornado, my heart goes out to those struck by disaster. There is a lot to accomplish in the next few weeks, but this is going to be great. Shoveling mud and sharing Christ! What better way to spend the week of the 4th of July. Be sure to check the "Mission" page and let me know if there are any questions. Start praying and preparing now for God to do some cool things in our lives and through our work.

Mark 1:14-15

After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

The GOOD NEWS, Jesus is Lord! Have you ever looked at the message of Good News from Jesus' point of view? As he walked this earth telling anyone that would listen, "the time has come" for your life change, your heart change, and your future to be changed, He could see clearly what it would take for all that to happen, for you and me. What the Bible calls Good News is Jesus walking closer to the Cross. Every message, miracle, and step takes Him closer to giving everything for you and me on the cross. Has the time come for you to "repent and believe the GOOD NEWS"? Is it time to trust in Christ! His willingness to die on the cross, His power over death and His going to prepare a place for us at with the Father is all just for you. What does it take? Jesus said, "Come and follow me," and Simon and Andrew dropped their nets and began the adventure that would last them a lifetime! You tell Him... "the time has come" and He will do the rest. Mark 1:9-13

Wow! What detail. It is like a 2000+ year old Twitter account. Step by step... tweet by tweet it is all there. What did it take for Jesus to humble himself and be baptized? This is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and he went down into the muddy water and was dunked. This was just for you and me, Jesus is THE example of a life lived right. We battle with humbling ourself and just admitting we know him. Sounds like someone else we read about in another tweet Peter said, "I DON"T KNOW HIM" (Mark14:71). Jesus used ever part of His life to let us see how much He loved us and wanted to be close to us. Tweet from God, "You are my son, I love You, I am so pleased" This is just the start of what Jesus was willing to go through for us. "at once" He was off to the desert to be tempted just like we are every day. Jesus Tweet,"Devil tempted me with food, but it takes more than food." Jesus Tweet,"LOL tried to tempt me with power, how dumb can he get", Jesus Tweet, "guy doesn't give up, now wants me to temp God, clueless comes to mind." Jesus began His earthly ministry by suffering for 40 days and putting up with all the garbage Satan could come up with. WHY?? is the first thing that comes to mind for me. Really simple, He loves YOU! and you are worth it! and don't forget this is just the beginning of all He was willing to do just for you. As you go out in your "desert" today, temptation will come, we are not stronger than Jesus so call on Him and know the "angels attended" Jesus so we are not alone! Mark 1:1-8
"a voice of one crying in the wilderness" You ever feel like that? You are screaming but no one is listening? You may be like John and you are trying desperately to share the truth of Christ and it seems everyone you talk to has ears filled with "Shrek Wax." How do you think John felt? Not only did they not listen to him but when He told the truth about right and wrong, they lopped off his head. We truly live in a "wilderness." There are so many distractions and so much confusion about what is important, it seems like no body hears us. The cool thing is we don't have to make ourselves be heard, we just have to continue to shout "Get ready, Jesus is calling!" and from there let Jesus clean the "Shrek wax" If He can melt the hearts of Stone, He can handle a little wax! Stay faithful, stay strong and just keep shouting! Hope to see you all on Wednesday!
